Facebook gives more excitements. Facebook is introducing five big new features to user profiles:

  1. The option to pin Featured Photos to the top of the profile

  2. Temporary profile pics

  3. Easier visibility controls for About info, including a new 100 character Bio field

  4. A mobile-centric design with centered profile photos plus big sections for photos and friends

  5. The ability to use a 7-second looping video as your profile pic.

'We’re continually looking for ways to make profiles the best place for people to curate their online identities and connect with others,' wrote Aigerim Shorman and Tony Hsieh, Product Managers at the Social network.

'The world has changed since we first introduced profiles in 2004.
'On News Feed and profiles, we’re seeing people create and view more videos than ever before.

'Soon, you’ll be able to film a short, looping video clip that will play for anyone who visits your profile.

The firm said the changes were inspired by its Celebrate Pride feature.
'When more than 26 million people used our Celebrate Pride filter, it was more apparent than ever that people use their profile picture to show who they are— even if it’s just for a moment in time.

'Profile pictures are not just static portraits.

'They represent what’s going in your life right now and what’s important to you, and we want to give people the tools to better express themselves in this way.'
To get these features for your profile, you have to update Facebook’s smartphone app.

To change the profile picture with a 7 second video, you have to click on the “Shoot” icon on your current profile picture and start recording the 7-second video. The uploaded 7-second video will run in the loop for the users who will see it.

Facebook let people set a temporary version of your profile picture that reverts back to your previous profile picture at a specified time, design to let people celebrate their birthday or a holiday.

The new features are designed to highlight ‘what’s going on in their life, what’s important to them now in more expressive ways,’ said Facebook project manager Aigerim Shorman.
